Welcome Home

My lovely daughter is home safe and sound from an amazing school trip to Egypt.

See the pyramids along the Nile
Watch the sunrise on a tropic isle
Just remember darlin' all the while
You belong to me

See the market place in Old Algiers
Send me photographs and souvenirs
Just remember when a dream appears
You belong to me

I'll be so alone without you
Maybe you'll be lonesome too, and blue

Fly the ocean in a silver plane
See the jungle when it's wet with rain
Just remember 'til you're home again
You belong to me

Can you find the ice fishers?

Every year at this time, as soon as the ice is thick enough (by standards much lower than my own usually), a temporary village of ice fishers set up camp on the ice at the head of Musquodoboit Harbour. My daughter, sitting in the passenger seat of the car with the window rolled down and digital camera in hand, tried to do a "drive by photo shooting" yesterday. Defying the odds, because there were a lot of people on the ice yesterday, she took some pictures almost completely devoid of ice fishers.

Lovely pictures mind you, of a late afternoon sun shining on the ice, so I post them here for your enjoyment.

I'll help you out a bit - I've circled a small group in the picture to the right.
Maybe we'll try stopping and getting out to take the photos next time.
